Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets
Game 1 of the National League Championship Series between the Chicago Cubs vs the New York Mets. Chicago beat the St Louis Cardinals, the New York Mets beat The Los Angeles Dodgers. Pitching for The Chicago Cubs is LH Jon Lester who was 11-12 with a 3.34 ERA and 207 Strike Outs in the regular season. The New York Mets will have RH Matt Harvey 13-8 2.71 ERA and 188 strike outs in the regular season.
Game 1 and 2 will be played at Citi Field in New York City. Which means if the series goes to game 7 it will also be in New York City. Most people outside Chicago and New York City want to see The Cubs win. The betting public has more money on the Cubs for Game 1 at +108. The Mets are the favorite in this game. It will be a really good series.
History - The Cubs want to get the curse of the Billy Goat off their backs. The Mets Hate playing second fiddle to The New York Yankees. The last time the Mets won the world series was in 1986, they also won in 1969. Last time the Mets went to the World Series was in 2000 and they got beat by The New York Yankees 4 games to 1. The Cubs Won two world series way back in 1907 and 1908. The last time they played in the world series was 1945.
"Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more," said Billy Sianis after making him leave a World Series Game vs The Detroit Tigers in 1945 because they said his goat smelled.
