Nevada regulators ordered daily fantasy sports sites like DraftKings and FanDuel to shut down Thursday, saying the sites have flooded TV and Internet ads cannot operate in the state without a gambling license. People sign up to compete in games involving professional or college football, paying an entry fee that goes into a larger pool. They try to assemble teams that earn the most points based on real players stats. The top fantasy players who accumulate the most points win money. The sites are claiming the games are based on skill and not chance which is protected by the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act allowing fantasy sports.
Comedian Keith Lyle said on twitter, "Good. Just take the damn ads off TV, every 3 seconds...". Comedian Tomer Benvenisti (The Fat Bastards of Comedy) said, "I'm eating, i'll call you Sunday." That Must be a Really Big Meal. Today is Friday, it might take 3 days to do the dishes. - Mike Stigs
