The GRAND SLAM Tournaments

  Tennis like Hockey is not a Headliner Sport, like Football, Baseball and Basketball is. I've been following Woman's Tennis for years. Men's tennis NO, I don't care at all. Now with a Sports Blog I guess I'll watch some in 2016. 
  The big matches are the Grand Slam Tournaments. Starting with The Australian Open in January. The French Open in May, Wimbledon in June, and The U.S. Open in August. 
  The Australian Open and U.S. Open are played on hard courts. The French is played on clay. Wimbledon is on a grass court. 
  2015 Serena Williams won the first three legs of the grand slam but lost in the U.S. Open to Flavia Pennetta of Italy. The last Female to win the grand slam was Steffi Graf in 1988. Margaret Court won in 1970 and the first woman to win the grand slam was Maureen Connolly Brinker way back in 1953. 
  On the Men's side same story Novak Djokovic won 3 of 4. The last Male grand slam winner was back in 1969 won by Rod Laver. Rod Laver also won in 1962. The only other winner was Don Budge in 1938. 
  1998 Martina Hingis won the grand slam in Doubles but one of opens she had a different partner. In 1984 Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver was the only team to win in Doubles. (same partners)

Fantasy Sports Las Vegas

   Nevada regulators ordered daily fantasy sports sites like DraftKings and FanDuel to shut down Thursday, saying the sites have flooded TV and Internet ads cannot operate in the state without a gambling license. People sign up to compete in games involving professional or college football, paying an entry fee that goes into a larger pool. They try to assemble teams that earn the most points based on real players stats. The top fantasy players who accumulate the most points win money. The sites are claiming the games are based on skill and not chance which is protected by the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act allowing fantasy sports.

Dogers Mets Game 5

The Los Angeles Dodgers vs The New York Mets. Who will be alive after game 5 of the National League Division Series Tonight.    All Sports Fans eyes will be on the Mets Dodgers game Monday, after Chase Utley of the Los Angeles Dodgers running to second base did a take out slide into Ruben Tejada. Tejada's leg was broken on the play. It was the biggest subject at my Parents house for Football Dinner Sunday. We all said it was done on purpose. Chase was aiming to hit Tejada who was at the time, 2 feet behind second base. He never slid in the direction of the base nor did he touch it. The umpire said he was safe at second. (WTF) Did he do it on purpose YES, Did he want to break his leg NO. MaryOchi (her name in my act) Well, She said, "he Slipped," my publicist Crista, "i'm saying accident, but Wow." via Text from Texas who was at the Texas vs Oklahoma game Saturday. Singer Songwriter Frank DiMino, " I think it was a good hard play. I think Tejada should of taken the out at second, then get out of the way. He tried to continue the play." Comedian Tomer Benvenisti (The Fat Bastards of Comedy) said, "i'm eating, i'll call you later." 
  The series is tied 1-1 and moves from Los Angeles to New York for games three and four. Tejada will miss the remainder of the playoffs and his career might be over. If this was Hockey the gloves would of dropped and the fight would not stop to someone hits the ice. Well that's the rule in the NHL. 
Pitching for The New York Mets is Matt Harvey 6' 4" 225 pounds who is 13-8 with an ERA of 2.71. We all know what would happen in the regular season but this is the playoffs, even Hockey fights are rare in the playoffs. - Just Don't Aim for the Head.

for week four. Carolina's QB Cam Newton is playing his best football ever. Throwing for 685 yards, 5 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. Tampa Bay's QB Jameis Winston a rookie is putting up some good numbers 678 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. 

Carolina has beaten Jacksonville, Houstons, and New Orleans. Tampa Bay has also beaten New Orleans but lost to Tennessee and Houston.

  Tony won 2 Titles driving for Joe Gibbs, a former NFL Super Bowl Champion coach with Washington. Stewart's third NASCAR Title as a owner driver Stewart-Haas Racing. 
  Stewart started driving in NASCAR's top series in 1999 and has won 48 Races and 299 Top Tens. The good news for Tony Stewart fans, he did say, "it's not a retirement from RACING."

Last month on September 11th, I changed this blog from The Mike Stigs Show to StigsSports. Traffic has increased by 300%. Proving there is not enough sports / handicapping blogs vs comedy on the internet, 

but it is football season.

Comedy Writing / Stand Up Comedy - I rather SIT down, I hate traveling.

Cars / Automotive Industry - I have a degree in Automotive Technology. I went all the way across the country to learn how to do a tune up.

The NY METS clinched the Playoffs with a record of 89 - 67.

The NY Yankees are up +4 games for the first wild card spot.

The NY JETS are 2-1 and will play in Miami next week -1.5

The NY Giants are 1-2 they are in Buffalo getting +5.5 points.

The Buffalo Bills are 2-1 play at home giving the Giants -5.5

Hockey season starts the first week of October and the New York Rangers are the favorite to win the Stanley Cup.

The New York Islanders have move to Brooklyn (which means Broken Island) So they still can be called The Islanders. 

The New jersey Devils are the Favorite to WIN the number 1 Pick in the Draft. (According to StigsSports that is) Well they might if they can lose more games then Arizona, and finish last.

Will they get the number one pick, maybe not, if there is an expansion team in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Black Nights might get it. Why don't they call them the Las Vegas Nights or the Las Vegas ACES. 

Buffalo Sabres finished 2nd to last in the standings last year.
Buffalo has been in the NHL since 1970 and have never won a Stanley Cup. Maybe they can barrow one from the Devils, Rangers, or Islanders.

Basketball season starts in November and the NY Knicks Suck. The Brooklyn NETS is New York City's only hope. Good thing Buffalo doesn't have a team, they would be better then the Knicks.

NCAA Clemson vs Louisville

  Clemson ranked number (9) takes on Louisville this Thursday on ESPN in a ACC conference game. Clemson is 2-0 and Louisville is 0-2, losing to Auburn and Houston.

  The line opened at Clemson -5 it has now moved to -6. Clemson's QB Deshaun Watson has thrown five touchdowns and has completed over 77 percent of his throws. 

  Louisville has a problem at the quarterback position. Three quarterbacks has played in the first two games this season, and they don't know which one will be starting Thursday night. 

  Louisville Lost to Auburn 31-24 in week one, then lost last week to Houston 34-31. Clemson beat Wofford 49-10, and Appalachian State 41-10. Louisville has played much better teams. I never heard of wofford, and The first time I saw Appalachian State is when they pulled the big upset vs Michigan years ago. 

  HANDICAPPING : Clemson on Monday was giving 5. Today the line is at -6, which tells me more money is being put down on Clemson.
